Is Rogaine Necessary for a Hair Transplant to Grow?

2/15/2010 1:21:47 PM

Question:

Is Rogaine necessary medication for hair transplantation or does it just improve natural hair growth?

Answer:

Rogaine (minoxidil) is a proven and FDA approved hair regrowth stimulant that may help strengthen and rejuvenate naturally thinning hair where it's applied. While some hair restoration physicians believe Rogaine may help jump start early hair growth, transplanted hair will grow regardless of whether or not you apply Rogaine to the transplanted areas.
