About

Can remember someone referring to me as a "member of the brotherhood of the mature hairline" at the age of 16. Had a slow recede the next 10 years or so and a real accelerated thinning of the front between age 26 and 32.

With the exception of the front, my hair is very thick and moderately corse. The last year or so, started growing it longer and wearing forward covering the receding part. Finally realized that the small peninsula that is remaining on the front third of my head is not going to be there much longer. Time to do something.

3 Months I don't think these photos do justice- I am seeing a TON of new growth that started at about 2.5 months in. From about 2 feet you can see the new hairline very clearly. VERY excited to see what happens in the next few months!

Day 20 First PostOp Haircut Got the hair cut today. Tried to test the limits a bit and asked my stylist to go just one step shorter than where she thought the scar would be visible. This is a 3 guard. Not too bad for only less than a month out. And to be honest, I think it is only slightly visible, not due to the scar, but due to the area that was shaved and is still catching up. IMHO, the scar is doing well...

2 Weeks Stitches were removed yesterday. Barely any hairs left- just enough to look silly :-)

Day 13 The shedding continues... probably lost about 80% of the hairs. Went back to work today and by combing my native hair forward to cover, no one really noticed unless I showed them. Planning on having the stitches removed tomorrow at my regular physician's office. Had one pimple in the grafted area, so that is pretty good :-) Something must be growing under there.

Day 11 Here comes the shed....Of course I was hoping I would be that one in ten thousand that the transplanted grafts never shed and just continue to grow into beautiful thick, permanent hair... well I have realized today that the little guys are falling out pretty easily today. I am not one of the few... I will go through the doldrums. Deep breaths... I can do it....

Day 10 The little guys are still growing but today is the first day that it seems like there are less of them... I started back on Rogaine yesterday. I haven't noticed any little hairs falling out but they easily could have come out during the shower. Or maybe I am imagining it ... just seems like a little more space between the little guys. I still have some of the folicare shampoo and conditioner that Dr. Cooley gave me left, but I am thinking about going back to Revita tomorrow. I love that stuff.

Day 8 Finally got to do a non-cup shower! Gently rubbing my head with shampoo has NEVER felt so good :-)
