Sun Exposure Seven Days after Hair Transplant Surgery

4/30/2011 4:55:56 AM

Question:

Seven days after my hair restoration surgery I was unwise and wandered to an appointment in a city on a sunny day. I was probably in the sun for about half-an-hour all told that day. I didn't get sunburnt and there seems to have been no adverse reaction to my recipient area (e.g. transplanted hairs still there). However, am I likely to have done damage to my grafts and lessened the likelihood of a good result?

Answer:

In my opinion your grafts should be just fine. However, I suggest carrying an umbrella or hat with you on future outings to avoid further exposure and potential damage.
