Unhappy with my Large Forehead - Hair Transplant Surgery or Forehead Reduction?

8/28/2008 12:19:36 PM

Question:

I live in Toronto, Canada and I'm wondering if there is any place here that would do forehead reduction surgery. I am very self-conscious about my forehead and it makes me feel uncomfortable. Also i would like to know the costs.

Answer:

I've spoken to a few men and women who aren't experiencing any hair loss but are unhappy with their naturally larger forehead.

I am certainly not an expert in forehead reduction but I've seen an impressive procedure where a hair restoration physician removed a strip of skin at the hairline and then closed the wound resulting in a smaller forehead. The next procedure was a hair transplant procedure where a strip of skin containing hair follicles was removed from the sides and back of the scalp and then individual follicular units (hairs as they occur naturally in groups) were transplanted over the scar in the hairline to camouflage it.

In all honesty, I couldn't tell you exactly who does this type of procedure in Toronto, but you may want to start with hair restoration physician Dr. Marla Rosenberg who is recommended on the Hair Transplant Network. She is a specialist in hair restoration for women.
