What Does a Hair Transplant Cost?

11/6/2010 4:43:33 AM

Question:

I'm tired of balding and want to investigate hair transplant surger. Can you tell me what I can expect to pay?

Answer:

The cost of a hair transplant is dependent upon several factors including the type of procedure (FUT vs. FUE), the number of grafts you require to meet your hair restoration goals and your individual physician’s fees.

In the United States, the average cost for follicular unit transplantation (FUT) is between $4 and $6 per graft while the average for follicular unit excision (formerly known as follicular unit extraction) is between $6 and $10 per graft. A typical hair transplant patient may need between 1,500 and 2,500 grafts. Most patients will spend in the range of $10,000 to $15,000 for a single procedure and many will opt for a second procedure before attaining their desired results.

If you are interested in hair transplant surgery, I recommend that you consult our interactive map and locate the prescreened quality hair restoration physicians nearest you.
