What shampoos are safe to use after a hair transplant?

2/27/2008 9:55:38 PM

Question:

I just had a hair transplant yesterday on the frontal half of my balding scalp. What shampoos are now safe to use now that I've had hair transplant surgery?

Answer:

Congratulations on your recent hair transplant surgery and joining the Real Hair Club for Men. The good news is just about any shampoo other than ones that are medicated are safe to use after hair restoration surgery. Many hair transplant surgeons recommend a gentler shampoo, something without a lot of added chemicals; however, this is not universal. Being a 3 time hair transplant patient myself, I was only instructed to use a special shampoo after my third surgery. Using regular shampoo for my first 2 hair transplants did not impact hair growth or the final cosmetic result.
