Which Hair Transplant Procedure is Right for Me, FUT or FUE?

I want to get a hair transplant but I'm very confused about the different procedures. Should I get FUT or FUE? Please help.

There is quite a lot to know about each of these procedures but, in a nutshell, follicular unit transplantation (FUT) is the procedure that is most often recommended for the majority of hair transplant patients. The reasons for this are many. More follicular units can be transplanted in a single session with FUT. On average, FUT offers a higher percentage of growth over follicular unit excision (formerly known as follicular unit extraction) (FUE) and FUT is much more affordable.

Generally, FUE is more desirable for those patients who insist upon the possibility of wearing a tightly clipped hairstyle as FUE avoids the linear scar that FUT produces. It is important to note that FUE is not a “scarless procedure” however.

For more on FUT vs. FUE I suggest reading the following article from our Hair Loss Q&A Blog, What are the Disadvantages of FUE Hair Transplant Surgery when Compared to FUT?.
