Will Hair Quality and Density Continue to Improve 10 Months after Hair Transplant Surgery?

8/11/2011 1:29:48 AM

It's been 10 months since my hair transplant. Now that my hair has grown in, will it get fatter so that it will make it look even thicker? Can I expect anymore hair growth?

Ten months after hair restoration surgery, you should have roughly 90% of your final result. In general, you can expect the quality and caliber (hair shaft diameter) of your hair to continue to improve for up to 18 months. During this time, the hairs should become smoother, darker and increase in diameter until they more closely resemble your natural hair.

androgenic alopecia (male pattern balding) is a progressive condition. Thus, it is highly recommended that male patients use both Rogaine (minoxidil) and Propecia (finasteride) in conjunction with hair transplant surgery in order to slow the progression of hair loss and regrow hair.
