Will I See More Hair Growth 9 Months after Hair Transplant Surgery?

6/14/2011 4:20:46 AM

I had a hair transplant done about 9 months ago with 3000 grafts on my front. I have seen growth and can see my hairline starting to form. Although it's a bit weak at the moment, I am hoping it will become thicker. My issue is the hairline seems to grow but the hair behind it where I had grafts placed seems as if it has not grown as I can feel the gaps. Surely by 9 months some hairs should have grown like the hairline.

Another issue is that, since losing hair, my head has always been very itchy all the time. Before and after the hair restoration surgery, I get these dried flakes on my scalp and dandruff. I have used Nizoral shampoo but it did not help. Anything you can suggest?

At nine months, roughly 80% of your transplanted hairs should have sprouted. You should still have some new hair growth and maturation to come.  Based on your comment, it sounds as if you are not entirely sure how much growth you have experienced. Have you been taking monthly photos for comparison?

If you are suffering from severe seborrheic dermatitis it may have affected your hair growth. Have you consulted with a dermatologist? What was your hair transplant physicians opinion?
